 Highlights include:

  • CAL POLY POMONA
$1,000,000 for a new research-grade supersonic wind tunnel, research grade water tunnel and an aerospace computer simulation system : New equipment to be used to research fluid dynamics and heat transfer in aerospace engineering. Cal Poly is in the process of upgrading and modernizing its Aerospace Engineering laboratory facilities due to enrollment in the Aerospace Engineering Department doubling over the last seven years.
  • UNITED TECHNOLOGIES IN POMONA
$1,000,000 for United Technologies in Pomona:  To upgrade the Central Atmospheric Monitoring System (CAMS IIA) on older Los Angeles Class Navy submarines. The current air systems are obsolete and deteriorating, which has resulted in increased maintenance costs.
  • ACORN ENGINEERING COMPANY IN CITY OF INDUSTRY
$1,050,000 for Stainless Steel Sanitary Spaces made by Acorn Engineering Company: For the installation of stainless steel bathroom facilities that save invaluable maintenance time on ships.
