Executive Summary

CareFirst of Maryland, Incorporated (CareFirst), a Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) contractor, underclaimed $9,000 of Medicare pension costs on its Final Administrative Cost Proposals for fiscal years 2002 through 2005. CareFirst administered Medicare Part A operations under cost reimbursement contracts with CMS until the contractual relationship was terminated September 30, 2005.
