Review of High-Dollar Payments for Inpatient and Outpatient Claims Processed by Riverbend Government Benefits Administrator for Calendar Years 2004 and 2005

Executive Summary

Riverbend Government Benefits Administrator overpaid Medicare hospitals $4.9 million for 49 inpatient high-dollar ($200,000 or more) and 51 outpatient high-dollar ($50,000 or more) claims for calendar years 2004 and 2005. We recommended that Riverbend recover the overpayments, and Riverbend agreed.
