The Tribal Technical Advisory Group (TTAG) serves as an advisory body to CMS, providing expertise on policies, guidelines, and programmatic issues. The 15 members of the TTAG are elected Tribal leaders (or their designated employees with authority to act on their behalf) selected from the 12 administrative units (Area Offices) of the IHS and representatives National Congress of American Indians (NCAI), the National Indian Health Board (NIHB) and the Tribal Self-Governance Advisory Committee (TSGAC) designated by Tribal leaders to act on their behalf. Additionally, Section 5006 of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Tax Act of 2009 (ARRA) codified the TTAG into law and added one additional representative each from Urban Indian Organizations and the Indian Health Service. When these additional members are selected, the TTAG will have 17 members.
