Mobile Resources on PsychiatryOnline

You may already be using psychiatryonline.com to access the DSM-IV-TR® and other psychiatry references online, but now you can access much of the content from your BlackBerry or other PDA/smartphone. This new mobile version has been formatted specially for these devices. Content includes the DSM-IV-TR, ICD-9-CM codes, differential diagnosis decision trees and the DSM symptom index from DSM-IV-TR Handbook of Differential Diagnosis, APA Practice Guideline Quick References, and the Manual of Clinical Psychopharmacology.

To use these wireless services, you will first have to create a free personal "My PsychiatryOnline" account. To create an account:

  1. Go to http://www.psychiatryonline.com/ from a desktop or laptop computer at NIH.
  2. Click the "My PsychiatryOnline" link from the homepage.
  3. Follow the instructions for creating an account.
  4. From your PDA, go to http://m.psychiatryonline.com/ and enter your “My PsychiatryOnline” username and password.

Some content can also be downloaded to your PDA as an ebook so that you can have access even when your device is not connected to the Internet. Look for the "PDA Download" link on book content pages.

For assistance, see PsychiatryOnline Help or contact Rex Robison, Biomedical Librarian/Informationist (robisonr@mail.nih.gov, 301-594-6283).

PsychiatryOnline is available to NIH staff through a subscription established by the NIH Library.
