Comments Sought on "Meaningful Use" of Electronic Health Records
Public comments on the initial recommendations for a definition of "meaningful use" of electronic health records are being sought by an HHS advisory committee. Medicare and Medicaid incentive payments are authorized under the Recovery Act to eligible providers (such as doctors and hospitals) who demonstrate "meaningful use" of certified records. Deadline for comments is June 26.
STANDARDS FOR THE USE OF ELECTRONIC HEALTH INFORMATION TO SUPPORT CLINICAL RESEARCH
Minority communities were invited to give input on the use of electronic health records for clinical research, which could broaden participation of underrepresented populations. The deadline for comments is April 3, 2009.
