The Global Standards Symposium (GSS), to be held in Johannesburg on 20 October 2008, just ahead of WTSA-08,
will bring together standards makers and other interested parties to discuss how developing countries can
become better involved in the standards making process.

Contribute to Bridging the Standardization Gap
Korea Communications Commission,
Nokia Siemens Networks,
Microsoft and
Cisco have contributed over USD 200,000 between them
to ITU fund to bridge the standardization gap between developed and developing countries.
Bridging the standardization gap means facilitating the participation of developing countries in the standards
development process which in turn allows them to profit from access to new technology development and ensures
that their requirements are taken into account in the development of standards. [more information…]
