I hope reasonable logic prevails. The SSN's original purpose was supplanted decades ago and it has become, like it or not, the most significant and vital non-bio identifier of an individual in untold thousands of databases. The uniqueness of the SSN makes it one of the most useful tools in many investigative scenarios. Please read the attached story for practical application of the SSN in investigative endeavors.
