I empathize with those whose identity has been stolen; my own family has been a victim. However, I utilize Social Security numbers in our business to verify and confirm an individual’s right to work in the United States. The number is utilized to confirm work history and credit. I utilize services that provide this information on a daily basis for my clients that are involved in screening applicants for employment, researching an individual they may be interested in romantically or hiring a child care provider. Access to this information is critical in my business. I would ask you preserve the right to that information, especially when it has been confirmed by the applicants.
