The use of SSN's to locate individuals for various reasons including service of process, both civil and criminal, has been for our business a crucial tool. It allows for determining whether we have the correct individual, especially those who's names are common. We do not provide the number to our clients and the data bases we use as professionals are tightly regulated and only available to certain licensed businesses. It is imporatant to business and consumers that we be allowed to continue our ligitimate secure practice. Please consider that most identy theft is done through illegal means and not by those working within their legal capacity.
