As a private investigator in my state i use the ssn only for the purpose of locating witnesses,locating defendants in order to effect service of process, to locate skips, deadbeat parents or non-custodial parents who have left with the children.I believe these are legitimate reasons and should not be taken away.My state requires checks by both the FBI and the TBI prior to licensing anyone as a P.I.and any sharing of information by the P.I. is grounds for loss of license.Please don't take away a great means of effecting civil justice. Thank You
