As a financial institution it is critical that we are able to verify the identity of our customers. The SSN helps to verify information used with credit for loans and new accounts. This identifier helps us to legitimize the individuals that want to transact business with us. SSNs are used along with other identification in the verification process. It also helps us in assisting law enforcement and other government entities to identify possible association with illegal activities.
