The theme for this year's World Wetlands Day is Upstream-Downstream: Wetlands connect us all. It is important for us all to be reminded that impacts to headwater streams affect wetlands, rivers, and bays downstream as well as the wildlife and people that depend on them for survival.

Environmental Concern World Wetlands Day Activities
Winners of our Wet Your Appetites: Cuisine for Critters Recipe Contest will be revealed. Students in grades 8 through 12 in the U.S. and its territories were challenged to write a creative wetland recipies containing a wetland organism living in one of the 22 U.S. Ramsar Wetlands of International Importance.
We are participating in "Dining to Donate" at the Applebees on Rt 50 in Easton, MD. Print and bring this coupon with you on February 2nd and 10% of your bill will be donated to Environmental Concern.
Wetland Wise Awards will be presented to people whose wetland wise decisions have made a difference in the health of the Chesapeake Bay - improving water quality and increasing habitat. The event will take place at 7:00 pm at the Talbot Community Center in St Michaels, MD. Coffee, tea and soft drinks will be served – and another beautiful Wetland Wise cake too.
