NN/LM PSR Funding
- Major Outreach Subcontract Awards - to provide funding support to encourage partnerships and community-focused activities with the goal of enhancing access to health information for health professionals and/or members of the public.
- Express Outreach Awards - to support network member projects to improve information access for health professionals and the public. Applications will be accepted continuously.
- Broadband Modem Subsidy Available - PSR will provide a one year subsidy to pay for mobile broadband service, offered by the major cell phone networks, to hospital librarians that are blocked from information access, distance education, and committee activites due to their institution's firewalls and filters. For more information, download and complete the application (MS Word format). Deadline for applications is August 28, 2009.
- MedlinePlus Go Local - provides funding to establish new Go Local services in California, Hawaii and the Pacific Basin. For California applicants, priority will be given to proposals that target California's most populous counties; these include Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego, San Bernardino, Riverside, Santa Clara, Alameda, Sacramento, Contra Costa, and Fresno counties. Prospective applicants are encouraged to review the Project Proposal Guidelines and to contact the Associate Director, Heidi Sandstrom.
- Library Improvement Program - to provide one-time funding support for hospital libraries in order to become participating members in the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, including onsite access to NLM resources and participating as a partner in interlibrary loan.
- Internet Connectivity - to support the improvement of network members' connections to the Internet. Included is funding to purchase and install computer equipment for a single work station and facilitate connection to the Internet. Internet connectivity support and training for inner city, rural, tribal and other community-based healthcare organizations will also be supported with this funding. - Computer Retrieval of Information on Scientific Projects (CRISP) - CRISP is a searchable database of federally funded biomedical research projects, maintained by the Office of Extramural Research at the National Institutes of Health
- Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) - FedBizOpps is the single government point-of-entry for Federal government procurement opportunities over $25,000. Replaces the Commerce Business Daily (CBD)
