NCUA Announces 2008 Board Meeting Schedule

Alexandria, Va., September 27, 2007 -- The National Credit Union Administration today announces its 2008 Board meeting schedule. The Board plans to convene in 2008 on a Thursday at 10 a.m. each month (except August when the Board historically does not meet) on the following dates:

January 17
February 21
March 20
April 17
May 22
June 19
July 17

NO AUGUST MEETING

September 25
October 16
November 20
December 18

The Board meeting schedule is subject to change.

Credit union officials, trade groups, media and the general public are invited to attend open meetings of the NCUA Board to witness the discussion and decision-making process that affects the vast majority of the nation’s credit unions and NCUA operations.

The National Credit Union Administration is the independent federal agency that regulates, charters, and supervises federal credit unions. NCUA, with the backing of the full faith and credit of the U.S. government, also operates the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund, insuring the accounts of 86 million members in all federal credit unions and the majority of state-chartered credit unions. NCUA is funded by credit unions not federal tax dollars.
