Frequently Asked Questions |
NEWTON BBS
BBS has posted over 20 000+ questions since its
inception in 1991. The archives
of the Ask A Scientist question and answer postings
between 1991 and 2008 can be found within this web site.
Users
do not have to be a member of NEWTON to utilize this service,
however,
this service is intended for K-12 teachers and students!
The question you submit is emailed directly to our volunteer
scientists [located throughout the world] and answers
will be emailed to the return email address you have
provided. All questions and answers become
the property of NEWTON BBS. Questions and answers will
be posted within NEWTON BBS and will become web pages
for others to access in the future.
Submit
only one question at a time!
All questions are evaluated, however, not all questions
are answered. We receive about 150-300 questions a day
and all of our scientists answer voluntarily.
-> Ask yourself
if the question is my question better answered using a
library or Internet search engine.
Helpful Hints for certain types
of questions are provided. This service is not intended
to be an online encyclopedia.
Our
purpose is to provide a means to have questions answered
that are not going to be easily found on the web or
within common references!
With
20 000 questions and answers previously addressed, many
questions we continue to receive have been answered,
and can be found in our archives.
Thank you!
Volunteer
scientists are always appreciated. To receive details
please send via email
) a short resume or description
of your training and/or experiences.
