Pryor to Meet with Community Leaders, Health Care Officials, Energy Innovators, and Veterans in August

Senator to Attend Events in Little Rock, Fort Smith, Fayetteville, Rogers, Camden, Hot Springs Village and Magnolia

WASHINGTON D.C. – Senator Mark Pryor today said he is looking forward to spending a month in Arkansas where he can travel the state and hear from communities about economic development, health care, energy and other critical issues. Below is Pryor’s schedule for the first half of August.
 
On Monday, August 10th at 6 pm and 7 pm CT, Pryor will conduct a live Town Hall meeting over the phone to discuss current events and take questions from Arkansans. The Tele-Town Hall system will contact households in the state beginning at 6 pm CT. In addition, Arkansans may also call in to participate by dialing 888-356-3090, with the ID code 13210. 
 
At 7 pm CT, Pryor will begin another Tele-Town Hall meeting. The system will again contact households in the state and Arkansans may also call in to participate by dialing 888-356-3090, with the ID code 13211.
 
“Arkansans have a lot to say about what’s going on in Washington, DC, especially about health care reform, and I want to hear from them. This format is the most effective way to hold a constructive dialogue with thousands of Arkansans, and it invites everyone to be part of the political process in the comfort of their own home,” Pryor said. “I am very much looking forward to these discussions and meeting with organizations and communities throughout August.”
 
On Tuesday, August 11th at 8:30 am CT, Pryor will speak at the Political Animals Breakfast in Fort Smith. The breakfast will take place at the Holiday Inn, 700 Rogers Ave in Fort Smith, AR.
 
At 1 pm CT, Pryor will tour the Washington Regional Medical Center and discuss health care reform with nurses, doctors and administrators. The tour will take place at the Washington Regional Medical Center, 3215 N. North Hills Boulevard in Fayetteville, AR.
 
At 3 pm CT, Pryor will meet with officials of the Fayetteville National Cemetery to discuss the potential expansion of the cemetery. The meeting will take place at the Fayetteville National Cemetery, 700 Government Avenue in Fayetteville, AR.
 
At 4:30 pm CT, Pryor will meet with the FAA Regional Manager and Congressman John Boozman to discuss the FAA contract tower program. The meeting will take place at Rogers Airport, 3 S Airport Drive in Rogers, AR.
 
At 7 pm CT, Pryor will speak during the Military Order of the Purple Heart National Convention. The convention takes place at the John W Hammons Embassy Suites Hotel, 3303 Pinnacle Hills Parkway in Rogers, AR.
 
On Wednesday, August 12th at 9 am CT, Pryor will tour the General Aviation Manufacturer Association’s forum to discuss the aviation industry’s impact in Arkansas now and in the future. The event will take place at the Hawker Beechcraft facilities, 2400 David Grundfest Jr. Dr. in Little Rock, AR.
 
On Thursday, August 13, at 10 am CT, Pryor will attend the Phoenix Renewable Energy Groundbreaking. The facility is the first of six biomass facilities planned. The groundbreaking will take place at Phoenix Renewable Energy,1 Port of Camden Drivein Camden, AR.
 
At 12 pm CT, Pryor will speak with Magnolia Rotary members about current events during a luncheon. The luncheon will take place at Miller’s Cafeteria, 2402 N. Vine St. in Magnolia, AR.
 
At 2 pm CT, Pryor will meet with officials from the Red River Redevelopment Authority to discuss economic development projects.  He will also meet with local workers and the Army Depot Commander. The event will take place at the Red River Army Depot Redevelopment Authority, 107 Chapel Lane in New Boston, TX.
 
On Tuesday, August 18 at 6 pm and 7 pm CT, Pryor will conduct a live Town Hall meeting over the phone to discuss current events and take questions from Arkansans. On Wednesday, August 19 at 12 pm CT, Pryor will attend the 25th Anniversary Celebration of the Community Health Centers of Arkansas, Inc. The event will take place at the Peabody Hotel, 3 Statehouse Plaza in Little Rock, AR.
 
At 6:30 pm CT, Pryor will address the Hot Springs Village Lion’s Club. He will speak about current events, including veterans’ issues, health care reform and the economy. Members should RSVP to the Hot Springs Village Lion’s Club. The event will take place at the Coronado Community Center, 150 Ponderosa Lane in Hot Springs Village, AR.
