Assessment Strategies and Reading Profiles (ASRP)
ASRP provides research-based assessment strategies to improve reading instruction for Adult Basic Education (ABE) and Adult Secondary Education (ASE) learners.
Intended users: Primarily ABE and ASE teachers, program administrators, and staff developers, but all other visitors are welcome.
How to use ASRP: Follow the menu in order because ASRP presents topics sequentially, with later concepts building on earlier ones. And, before you begin reading be sure to see the
helpful site tips. 
View testing of four reading subskills illustrating that:
- Diagnostic testing can inform the learner as well as the teacher.
- Diagnostic testing can be a very positive and supportive experience for the adult learner.

Staff development: ASRP is designed to enrich and support staff development activities by ABE and ASE teachers, program administrators, and staff developers. However, ASRP is not an online course, and it should not be used on a stand-alone basis for awarding professional development points or credits.
