Understanding Energy Consumption Behavior
Using Web-based Tools to Change Purchase Behavior
Various web sites provide information to purchasers about the energy efficiency of products. Our research analyzes the degree to which these sites provide information that is useful to the Web user, with special attention to large government and institutional buyers, including federal agencies. We are also exploring what information Web visitors need to make energy-efficient purchase decisions, and what Web page content and design can most effectively encourage the purchase of efficient products.
