Protect yourself from HIV.
The best way to protect yourself from HIV is to not have sex until you are in a relationship with only one person and you have both been tested. Here are other steps you can take to prevent HIV:

  • Use a latex condom External Links Disclaimer Logo with lubricant every time you have vaginal, oral or anal sex.
  • Limit your number of sexual partners.
  • Don’t inject drugs or share needles.
  • If you have more than one sexual partner, get tested for HIV regularly.
