NCCAM Guidelines for ARRA Administrative Supplements

This initiative is one of several being offered by NCCAM to help fulfill the goals of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) to help stimulate the economy through support of biomedical and behavioral research. Additional information about the Recovery Act and related NIH opportunities is available through the Office of Extramural Research.

Supplement funds should accelerate progress toward the aims and objectives of work that is entirely within the scope of ongoing, NCCAM-funded research project grants. In general, funds should support the addition of new personnel to the project, although funds necessary to ensure their effective involvement (e.g., supplies or small equipment such as computers) may also be requested.

Application Receipt Dates for Administrative Supplements

The final receipt date for applications for ARRA administrative supplements to be awarded in FY 2009 is May 15, 2009. NCCAM will determine at a later date whether applications for one-year funding in fiscal year 2010 will be accepted, and will update this page accordingly.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit applications electronically as an e-mail attachment in PDF format; however the signature of the institutional official must be clearly visible. Applicants may also submit applications in paper format.

Timeline for Review of Administrative Supplements

For FY 2009: Administrative supplement applications will be reviewed by the end of August with notification of award by September 30, 2009.
