JFSP Investment Strategy
The JFSP Governing Board developed an investment strategy to guide future research, synthesis, and science delivery activities of the Program. Take a look at our future direction.
2009 Selected Projects
The JFSP Governing Board has selected projects for new fire science research including a new science initiative addressing climate change and fire. In addition, synthesis projects are focused on extreme fire behavior, fire history and climate change, and a continuation of the JFSP Fuel Treatment Guides. A special issue supported in 2009 responds to a Department of Interior request to examine Emergency Stabilization & Restoration effectiveness in the Great Basin. And finally, the JFSP is launching planning efforts to develop 9 regional fire science delivery consortiums. View the following documents for more information:

JFSP Ten-Year Symposium
JFSP is organizing a three-day symposium at the Fire Congress in Savannah focused on what has been learned from 10 years of fire science investment, how that has changed science and management, and what we need to learn in the next 5-10 years. It is part of a larger effort by the JFSP Governing Board to take stock of where we are and lay out a strategy for future JFSP investment.
Please come to Savannah and help us celebrate 10 years of fire science and application, and chart a path forward for the next 10 years. Here is the agenda.
Fire Science Digest
This JFSP publication is a summarization of a current issue and is produced several times each year.
Fire Science Briefs
These JFSP publications are a summarization of a completed research project.
