WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) welcomed news today that the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), the nation's largest industrial trade association representing small and large manufactures in every industrial sector and in all 50 states, and millions of people who make things in America, has awarded him their Manufacturing Legislative Excellence Award.

"I am honored to be recognized by the National Association of Manufactures for my pro-growth, pro-jobs record in the Senate," Senator Inhofe said. "With the serious financial crisis we face today, we need leadership in Washington willing to fight to ensure our nation pursues policies that will lead to greater job creation and strong economic growth. Recognition by the nation's largest industrial trade association proves that I have a solid record on fighting for a strong economy and jobs in Oklahoma and across the nation."

Jay Timmons, Executive Vice President of NAM, congratulated the Senator, saying, "Congratulations and thank you on behalf of the National Association of Manufacturers, the nation's largest industrial trade association representing small and large manufacturers in every industrial sector and in all 50 states, and the millions of people make things in America. Your voting record in the 110th Congress has earned you the NAM Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence. Manufacturers present the NAM Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence to legislators who consistently support our pro-growth, pro-jobs agenda and achieve a rating of 70 percent or better on Key Manufacturing Votes. Your rating was an outstanding 92 percent."
