Guidelines for Adolescent Depression in Primary Care (GLAD–PC) Toolkit

square iconDescription

This toolkit helps primary care providers decide whether and how to implement the Guidelines for Adolescent Depression in Primary Care (GLAD-PC) into their practice. It was designed to be user-friendly and applicable to real-world primary care practices.

The first section, “GLAD-PC Guidelines,” contains the guideline recommendations and a flow chart, which depicts how best to manage adolescent depression in the primary care setting.

The following two sections, “Early Identification” and “Diagnostic Aids,” contain tools for identifying and diagnosing cases of depression. The “Guide to” sections helps providers choose the right types of tools for their particular practice.

The subsequent sections, “Treatment info for Providers” and “Treatment Referrals and Follow-up,” contain tools to help clinicians initiate treatment as well as provide referrals and followup care. Different tools are available to accommodate individual or large group practices.
