Detailed Forecast Discussion |
In south-central and southeastern Louisiana, mostly cloudy skies and thunderstorms will limit ozone formation and disperse pollutants today, leading to Good AQI levels throughout most of the region. However, partly sunny skies will lead to Moderate AQI levels for ozone in Baton Rouge. Tomorrow, partly sunny skies and temperatures in the low-90s will increase ozone formation, and light northeasterly winds will limit dispersion and gradually bring additional pollutants into the region. As a result, AQI levels will be high-Moderate in New Orleans and Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups in Baton Rouge. Friday, partly cloudy skies and scattered showers will lower AQI levels to Moderate. \n\nIn southwestern Louisiana, mostly sunny skies will enhance ozone formation today; however, low pollutant carryover from previous days will keep AQI levels Good. Tomorrow and Friday, continued mostly sunny skies, temperatures in the mid-90s, and light and variable winds will lead to Moderate AQI levels for ozone in Lake Charles on both days. \n\nIn northern Louisiana, mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-90s will enhance ozone formation today. However, low pollutant carryover and moderate northerly winds will keep AQI levels in the Good range. Tomorrow and Friday, sunny skies and high temperatures will lead to Moderate AQI levels for ozone in Shreveport and Monroe on both days. |
