Richard Wainio to testify on port security

Washington, D.C. - Congressman Gus M. Bilirakis (R-Palm Harbor), a member of the House Committee on Homeland Security, today announced that Tampa Port Authority Director and Chief Executive Officer Richard Wainio will testify on Thursday in front of the Committee's Subcommittee on Border, Maritime, and Global Counterterrorism, on which Bilirakis serves. 

Bilirakis pushed for Wainio to be invited as a witness to provide his perspective on port security and issues of importance to the Port of Tampa and Florida's other ports.  The hearing, entitled "The SAFE Port Act: A Six Month Review," will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, in room 1539 of the Longworth House Office Building.
