Clarke Joins Colleagues Requesting Immediate Relief for Haiti

Washington, DC -- Today, U.S. Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke, joined members of the Congressional Black Caucus in a press conference calling on President Bush to expedite food aid, debt relief and Temporary Protected Status (TPS) to the people of Haiti.

 

“The situation in Haiti is dire,” stated Congresswoman Clarke.  “This is not a time for political posturing or feel good rhetoric.  We are calling on President Bush to make this issue a priority and to provide immediate aid to the men, women and children that are suffering as a result of the nation’s economic instability.”

 

Congresswoman Clarke represents New York’s 11th Congressional districted located in central Brooklyn.
