US ARMY RESERVE ELEMENT (USARE)

The USARE-DISA is a battalion-like Army Reserve unit charged with supporting a variety of DISA missions. The unit has several detachments located throughout CONUS and has mobilized many Soldiers in support of OEF/OIF.

MISSION

To protect and defend essential elements and applications of the Global Information Grid (GIG) by ensuring their availability, integrity, authenticity, confidentiality, and non-repudiation. In support of this mission USARE-DISA provides operational support for a number of real-world signal missions including, The National Military Command Center (NMCC), Joint Web Risk Assessment Cell (JWRAC), Army Web Risk Assessment Cell (AWRAC), Joint Task Force - Global Network Operations (JTF-GNO), DISA's Field Security Operations (FSO), Defense Enterprise Computing Center Columbus (DECC-C), DISA Northern Command (NORTHCOM) and DISA Continental United States (CONUS).

USARE-DISA has detachments in:

  • Huntsville, AL
  • Colorado Springs, CO
  • St. Louis, MO
  • Washington, DC
