MEDLINE Database on Tap Screen Shot Examples
Using the PICO Search Tab
Enter search terms into one or
more search fields.		 Select other options as usual Select specific Clinical Task or
all tasks (default).		 Tap Go button to search.

Viewing Titles or Summaries in list Results
Select no clusters for results organization. Select Title view or Summary view from lower
left corner.		 Switch between views without re-searching. Tap the text in either view to retrieve the
citation.

Using the Evidence Based Medicine clustered results
To increase the likelihood of finding articles higher in the
evidence pyramid, use the "English + Human" search limit in the Profile tab.		 On the Search tab, tap Use Profile and select Evidence-Based
from the drop down list.		 Read titles by tapping the abbreviated title in the EBM cluster
on the Cluster Results tab.		 The citation is retrieved by tapping the title at the bottom of
the Cluster Results tab.

Using the Auto Spell Check search option
On the Search tab, tap Auto Spell Check.
The server will use suggested spellings for the search.		 Browse the results. Actual search terms are
highlighted.		 The actual search terms are shown at the
bottom of the Search tab.		 The actual search terms appear on the History
tab.

Searching MEDLINE with Essie, a new experimental search engine
On the Search tab, select Essie
from the drop down list.		 Browse the results. Results are ranked by relevance. Essie can be combined with other
search options.
