Using the Landsat 7 Download Site
The Landsat 7 Download page provides a number of Landsat 7 scene subsets intended for use with Purdue University's MultiSpec software. The MultiSpec software can be downloaded by clicking on "MultiSpec" on the Landsat 7 Download page or by using the following link:
MultiSpec Tutorial
This tutorial, developed for the GLOBE program, is designed such that the user runs the tutorial and MultiSpec together. It uses animation and interactive elements to demonstrate the functions of MultiSpec and how to use them to analyze Landsat images.

Downloading LAN Files
To download MultiSpec LAN files select the .LAN file you want. There are generally two files, the first is the full image that you see displayed and the second is a smaller subset which is represented by the red box. In some cases more than one subset image is available, if so, two red subset boxes will be visible. Under the .LAN files you will find important README files, these are available both as MS Word files and as plain text, make sure to read through this information thoroughly.
Downloading TIFF files
To download color TIFF images of the data click on the "More image files" link. This will take you to the TIFF download page. You have the option to download TIFF images made with various band combinations. To preview these images place your cursor over the thumbnail images below the main image. **WARNING: you should wait for the page to load completely before previewing images. Once you have decided on a band combination, select the corresponding file listed to the right of the image.
