A message from Our Mayor

Welcome to the City of San Marino website. This website was designed to be user-friendly and complement the many services and resources made available by the City.

San Marino is a full-service city offering residents and businesses the benefit of complete public services (Planning & Building, Police, Fire, Parks & Public Works, Recreation, and Library).

Incorporated in 1913, the City founders designed our community to be uniquely residential, with expansive properties, surrounded by beautiful gardens with wide streets, and well maintained parkways.  This forethought best exemplifies the charm and character that make San Marino an enjoyable place to live and work.

I hope your tour of this website is a pleasant one; however you are always welcome to personally contact our staff should you need further assistance.

Best regards,

Mayor Eugene Sun

Hidden Tranquility

San Marino rests just below the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains. The beauty of our city park and landmarks make San Marino a proud and beautiful part of Los Angeles County.

The quality of our community's resources provide tremendous value and enjoyment for residents and their guests.

The Old Mill

Completed about 1816 as a grist mill for Mission San Gabriel, the original two-story structure measured 53 by 26 feet. It is the oldest commercial building in Southern California.

Crowell Public Library

Our state-of-the-art building opened in January 2008 and provides books, magazines, DVDs, electronic databases, reference assistance, children’s programs and free wireless internet access for all ages. Our newest public building is open seven days a week.

Lacy Park

Hidden in the city of San Marino is the serenity of Lacy Park. Families have enjoyed the park for several years and remains as one of San Marino's best kept secrets.

The Huntington Library

For qualified scholars, the Huntington Library is one of the largest and most complete research libraries in the United States in its fields of specialization.
