Hoyer Statement on Senate Confirmation of Ellen Tauscher

WASHINGTON, DC – House Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer (MD) released the following statement today on the Senate confirmation of Ellen Tauscher as the new Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security:
 
“Last night, the Senate confirmed my good friend Congresswoman Ellen Tauscher as the new Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security. Rep. Tauscher will bring to the State Department her years of experience on the House Armed Services Committee, her expertise on counterproliferation efforts, and her history of work with world leaders on some of the most pressing security issues.
 
“Rep. Tauscher’s voice and counsel will be missed in the House. But President Obama and Secretary Clinton are gaining a valuable asset in their continuing work to keep America safe.”
