DRAFT - Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

The Army objective is to improve the delivery of civilian personnel services and products through standardization. To achieve this objective, Business Process Maps (BPMs) have been developed and placed on the Internet at http://cpol.army.mil/library/general/bpm/. To further support this endeavor, companion SOPs have been developed to provide additional description of the standardized Army processes shown in the BPMs. These draft SOPs are provided for OASA(M&RA), MACOM, and CPAC review and comment.

The procedures and responsibilities described in the draft SOPs must be consistent with the processes outlined in the companion BPMs. In instances where there is no corresponding BPM for an SOP, the processes and responsibilities must be consistent with the official OASA(M&RA) Task List.

To allow the maximum time for review and comment, we have placed the draft SOPs on the Internet in the format provided by the CPOCs. Since the SOPs must correlate with the processing steps in the BPMs, the SOPs will be structured in a format compatible with the BPMs when they are finalized. OASA(M&RA), MACOM and CPAC comments and recommendations must identify the BPM number and the process block number(s) from the BPM to which each comment applies. This will ensure that all comments and recommendations are considered and applied to the appropriate BPM process in finalizing the SOPs.
