Description

This office coordinates all Department of Justice activities relating to federally recognized Indian tribes. Intended to increase the responsiveness of the Department to Indian tribes and American Indian citizens, the Office of Tribal Justice (OTJ) has ensured better communication by serving as a permanent point of contact between the Department and federally recognized Indian tribes. The Office of Tribal Justice represents the Department in its dealing with Indian tribes, federal agencies, Congress, state and local governments, professional associations, and public interest groups.
