The Brain Injury Association of America, formerly the National Head Injury Foundation, was founded in 1980. A national non-profit organization, the association's main focus is to provide services to persons with brain injuries and their families. Together with a network of 41 state associations, they strive to increase public awareness of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), provide education and information about TBI, and promote linkage to support groups and local resources.
Publications available: TBI Challenge!; National Directory of Head Injury Rehabilitation Services; and a catalog of educational resources.
