Grant and Project Help

As your representative in Congress, I believe it is my duty to bring home federal money for critical projects in your communities.  After all, as taxpayers, it is your money.  This can be done in two ways - through grants or the annual appropriations process.  Of the 12 House appropriations bills, generally only 9 typically provide funding to school districts, municipalities, colleges/universities and other entities for projects, such as curriculum development, transportation infrastructure, drinking water/wastewater treatment, public health facilities and equipment, among many others.

Please contact Andy Rowe in my Moline office at 309-793-5760 for help with your grant or appropriation application, or to discuss funding opportunities.  Please note that the deadline for FY2010 project requests has passed.  Click here to see the funding requests I submitted.

As a member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, I will also have the opportunity to submit requests for High Priority Projects (HPPs) to be considered for the Surface Transportation Bill (a.k.a. "Highway Bill"), which will be reauthorized this year.  Every 6 years, the Highway Bill provides new authorization and funding for repairs and modernization of all surface roads, bridges, ferries and rail in the United States.  The deadline for submitting HPP requests has also passed.  Click here for the list of the projects I submitted.  Please contact Chris Austin in my DC office at 202-225-5905 with any questions.
