The Question
(Submitted March 29, 1998)
What are some of the substances found on the moon ?
The Answer
There is a good, readable account of what the Apollo astronauts
found on the moon in the July 1994 issue of Scientific American.
I would recommend that article to you. Here is a list of some of
the substances that are mentioned in the article:
plagioclase feldspar, olivine, pyroxene, anorthosite
The article does a good job of describing how the presence
and/or absence of certain elements on the moon led to what is now
considered by many scientists as the correct theory of its
formation.
