2007 U.S. Service Academy Tea

Congressman Hoyer hosted a congratulatory tea reception on Capitol Hill for students from the Fifth Congressional District (Charles, Calvert, St. Mary’s and areas of Prince George’s and Anne Arundel counties) who were offered appointments to a U.S. Service academy for 2007.

On June 4, 1981, Congressman Steny Hoyer (D-MD) became the longest serving Member of the U.S. House of Representatives in Maryland’s history.

Hoyer Delivers University of Maryland Commencement Address

Congressman Steny Hoyer delivered the 2007 spirng commencement address at the University of Maryland on Sunday, May, 20, 2007. His remarks addressed the school's legacy of public service and the civic responsibility of graduates to carry on this proud legacy.

Hoyer Presents England’s Monarch with Framed Photo of Hubble Telescope

Congressman Steny Hoyer (D-MD) welcomed England’s Queen Elizabeth II and her husband Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, to NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, where the royal couple toured the facility, spoke with crew aboard the International Space Station, and was welcomed with a formal greeting ceremony, among other things... Hoyer “Follows Doctors’ Orders;” Reads to Children in Support of Reach Out and Read Literacy Program

LAUREL, MD – Doctors at Laurel Lakes Primary Care are sending families home from check-ups with free books and a very important prescription – “read aloud to your children.” Today, Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (D-MD) visited the health center to follow doctors’ orders by reading to a group of young patients. (RELATED LINK)
