WASHINGTON (12 Dec.) -- U.S. Rep. Gus M. Bilirakis, representing Florida's 9th Congressional District including parts of Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas Counties, today announced the launch of his newly re-designed congressional website.

This new "Online Office" will serve as an interactive and informative resource for Congressman Bilirakis's constituents. Bilirakis took into consideration the primary concerns and needs of his constituents when developing his site. He also worked hard to incorporate the latest media and technology functions to provide the best the web has to offer.

"I wanted a site where my constituents could not only learn about my work and the issues I am working on in Congress, but also learn a little more about the 9th District and the services my office can provide to help them," said Bilirakis. "This is an ongoing project, and as new technology and ideas come forward, I will be looking for implementing them to make my online office more accessible and productive."

The new site features a customized newsroom designed in seperate modules constantly streaming information. Inside the newsroom is "BilirakisTV," which features the Congressman's very own video channel streaming all of the latest video content of Bilirakis's speeches, hearings and interviews. The same can be found in audio format in his "Audio Feed Room." Also, the newsroom has a blog integrated into the site, which will be a constant source for updated information about the Congressman's work in both the 9th Congressional District and in Washington, D.C.

In addition to such great informational sections as "Issues & Ideas" and "District Corner," the new site includes the next generation in website features like interactive Google Maps, ajax tab technology, social bookmarking and tag clouds.
