New!Victims of the 118th Street Serial Killer

The Albuquerque Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit is currently investigating the murders of eleven women and one unborn child who were found buried in a mass grave site on the city's westside. Seven of the victims have been identified. Their photos, along with additional information, are available on the Cold Case website. Anyone with information concerning these crimes is asked to call the 118th Street Task Force at 1-877-765-8273 or Crime Stoppers at (505) 843-STOP.


New!2009 Todd Parkins Memorial Regional NRA Match!

The Albuquerque Police Department is hosting the 2009 Regional Pistol Match. This competition will take place on September 16 through September 18, 2009. This years pistol match is dedicated to the memory of Lieutenant Todd Parkins. He organized the first Regional and National NRA competitions held in Albuquerque. Sadly, Todd lost his life in a tragic hunting accident that occurred during the 2008 National Police Shooting Championship. Unsolved Murders Get New Attention as Cold Case Unit Begins to Apply Heat
Cold Case FilesThe Cold Case Unit is interested in examining any new evidence of open cases previously investigated by the Homicide Unit. As with all investigations, the public's involvement is critical to providing information and evidence in these cases. The Unit will be using all avenues available to investigate and publicize unsolved homicides. You may view some of our current cases by visiting this link. LEGAL NOTICE: Destruction of Unclaimed Property

The Albuquerque Police Department intends to dispose of a number of items acquired during its regular course of business. The legal owners of these items are either unknown or have failed to respond to all attempts to contact them.

If you are the rightful owner of an item included on the attached list(s), immediately contact the Evidence Unit at (505) 823-4600 or (505) 823-4616.

Proof of ownership, as well as verification of eligibility via background questions, will be required prior to the return of any property. Items not claimed within 30 days of this notice will be destroyed pursuant to state law.
