House Overrides Incomplete Farm Bill |

Today, the House successfully overrode a Presidential veto of a version of the Farm Bill (H.R. 2419) that did not contain a section of the bill originally passed by Congress.

Democrats will have to pass another farm bill after the one sent to President Bush lacked an entire portion of the measure due to an enrolling error blamed on a faulty parchment printout machine.
...Title III of the farm bill, dealing with trade and foreign aid provisions, was omitted as a result. Democrats plan to correct the error by passing that title as a separate bill under a rule Thursday.
Discussions between House Leaders on the floor following the vote signaled ongoing discussions with how to proceed next. It remains unclear if this will be resolved by tomorrow.
