Dog Genome Sequencing: Canis familiaris

The National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) has supported a dog (Canis familiaris) genome sequencing project, led by the Broad Institute/MIT Center for Genome Research, to produce 6-fold whole genome shotgun coverage of the dog genome. The resulting sequence was assembled in July, 2004 (to view the press release, please click here).
