I often receive letters and phone calls from constituents regarding problems they are having with Social Security and Medicare programs.
Problems related to Social Security often are requests for help obtaining benefits, or general questions about benefits levels and cost of living adjustments.
For assistance, I recommend that constituents contact the Social Security Administration by calling 1-800-772-1213 to speak directly with an agency representative. Additional information can be found by visiting their website at www.ssa.gov.
Regarding Medicare, constituents often call my office when they encounter problems ranging from mistakes in the billing and payment for services to requests for help obtaining benefits.
For help, I recommend that constituents contact the Medicare program by calling 1-800-MEDICARE and speak to a Medicare representative. Additional information can be found by visiting their website at www.medicare.gov.
Also, my San Francisco office has caseworkers who can assist constituents in dealing with Medicare, Social Security and other Federal programs. You can fill out a Casework Authorization form or reach them by dialing 415-393-0707.
