Sen. Stevens Will Recognize E-Rate 10 Year Anniversary on Wednesday
New Report to Profile Communities, Including Anchorage, That Have Benefited
 
WASHINGTON, D.C. –  Senator Ted Stevens (R-Alaska) will join the National Coalition for Technology in Education and Training (NCTET) and the Education and Library Networks Coalition (EdLiNC) to recognize the ten year anniversary of the “E-Rate” program on Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at 9:00AM in the Russell Senate Office Building, Room 485.
 
For the past decade, the “E-Rate” program has provided schools and libraries in Alaska and across the nation with affordable communications and Internet access.  A new report detailing the “E-Rate” program will also be released. The report entitled “E-Rate: 10 Years of Connecting Kids and Community,” was produced as a joint effort by the NCTET and EdLiNC. The report profiles ten communities from across the nation that have excelled under the E-Rate, including communities in Alaska (Anchorage School District), California, Hawaii, Kentucky, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, Texas, and West Virginia.
