McHugh Announces $950K for Plattsburgh Airport

Capitol

Washington, Jun 9 - Congressman John M. McHugh (R- Pierrepont Manor) announced today that Plattsburgh International Airport in Plattsburgh, New York received a federal grant of $950,000 from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Federal Aviation Administration.

“Continuing to improve our rural airports is a top priority and I am very pleased that the federal government has continued to support Plattsburgh International Airport and its civilian operations. By renovating the hangar buildings, we will continue to make the airport an attractive and viable option for travelers in the North Country,” said McHugh. “I look forward to seeing continued expansion, which will help both local residents and tourism in the region.”

The grant award will provide Plattsburgh International Airport with federal funding under Airport Improvement Program's Military Airport Program. The funds will be used for the renovation of two hangar buildings at Plattsburgh International Airport, Plattsburgh, New York. The hangar renovations will help the airport meet the needs of existing tenants by providing much needed improvements of the interior space.
