On September 23, 2008, Dan Beard held a press conference to launch the House's introduction of compostable water bottles to all the House's eateries. Dan unveiled the zero-emission electric vehicle with the help of actor Ed Begley Jr. from the television series "Living with Ed" and Congressmen Earl Pomeroy. The vehicle is manufactured by North Dakota based Global Electric Motocars (GEM) and was purchased as part of the "Green the Capitol" initiative. (running time 01:09)
