Careers in estuaries, coasts, oceans and atmospheres are diverse and fulfilling. These careers can take you all over the world, from the warm waters of the Caribbean to the winter wonders of the South Pole. Some resources on careers and job opportunities in such field are listed below.

  • NOAA Careers  - Unlock secrets in the deep oceans, track rapidly moving storms, operate state-of-the-art environmental satellites, chart the Nation's waterways, formulate models to forecast climate trends, protect and preserve our living marine resources. It's all in a day's work at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Find more information at the NOAA Employment Information website. 
  • Ocean Careers - OceanCareers.com is a nationwide project supported by California Center for Ocean Sciences Education Excellence. This website provides information on ocean science career opportunities, the knowledge and skills required to enter these careers, where students can gain the necessary education, employers who hire people to work in these careers, and much more.
  • Ocean Science CareersThe Bridge a growing collection of the best marine education resources available on-line, provides a comprehensive list of many websites that offer information on ocean careers and job opportunities.
  • Marine Careers – Woods Hole Ocean Institute Sea Grant Program and New Hampshire Sea Grant Program will introduce you to a wide range of marine career fields and to people working in those fields. In addition, it gives professionals in those careers a chance to tell you what they like and dislike about their careers, what they see for the future in their fields, and much more. This site also provides you with some experts' views on what the future holds for marine science careers.
