Today, Congressman Lamborn (CO-05) issued the following statement regarding the loss of the three firefighters in fires that are sweeping across Southern Colorado:

“I am truly saddened about the loss of three firefighters who died battling the Fort Carson and Ordway wildfires.  These tragedies have devastated our community and we grieve for their families.   Through their devotion to keeping our community safe Gert Marais, John Schwartz Jr., and Terry DeVore made the ultimate sacrifice as they bravely answered the call of duty.  We are grateful for their selfless commitment to protect Colorado families.  As I offer my sincerest condolences, please know that I am here to assist in any way possible.” Congressman Doug Lamborn (CO-05)
