June 14, 2008 is Flag Day
Washington, Jun 13, 2008 -
As we approach the anniversary of the adoption of the flag of the United States of America, Congressman Lamborn offered the following statement:
“In observance of the 232nd anniversary of the adoption of the flag of the United States by resolution of the Second Continental Congress on June 14th 2008, I salute our great nation and our cherished freedom represented by the American flag. The following description was aptly offered by Congress upon the flag’s inauguration, ‘White signifies Purity and Innocence; Red, Hardiness and Valor; Blue signifies Vigilance, Perseverance and Justice.’
“The American flag flies proudly from residences, businesses and the various military installations throughout Colorado’s Fifth Congressional District. Let us take a moment to recognize the symbolic meaning for our country and our great men and women in uniform continuing the fight for our freedom.” –Congressman Doug Lamborn (CO-05)
