Lamborn Honors Victims of 9-11 Attacks

Seventh Anniversary of ‘Vicious’ Attacks: a Time to Reflect

Washington, Sep 10, 2008 -

Washington, D.C. - On the seventh anniversary of September 11, 2001 Congressman Doug Lamborn (CO-05) offered the following statement regarding the tragic events of that day:

“It’s hard to believe that seven years have passed since that awful day in September when terrorists unleashed evil on America. Much has changed since that attack. Many American families have sacrificed and lost loved ones in the ongoing jihadist global war on terror. Many of those military families live and serve in Colorado’s Fifth Congressional District. Today and always, I honor all those families who have lost loved ones as a result of the attacks on September 11th, 2001.

“We are a blessed nation. May we always look to the future with optimism and courage.  I ask all Americans to join me in taking a brief intermission from life as usual today to commemorate the memory of our fallen American heroes.

“On the fortieth anniversary of the D-day invasion Ronald Reagan said, ‘We will always remember. We will always be proud. We will always be prepared, so we will always be free.’  This sentiment perfectly portrays the positive and assured cornerstone of America’s frame of mind following the vicious attacks of 9/11.” –Congressman Doug Lamborn (CO-05)
